We study the evolution of plant diversity and its relationship to environmental factors. In particular, we are interested in understanding how past and future environmental changes may influence plant biodiversity. We use a range of methods from phylogenetics, biogeography, ecology and conservation.
What we do
We aim at understanding how plants diversity has evolved and how it will be affected by ongoing global change. We focus mainly on Mediterranean mountain systems and in particular on the Maritime and Ligurian Alps, an important center of endemism and a hotspot of biodiversity.
Who we are
We are part of the Department of Earth, Environmental and Life Sciences at the University of Genoa that is devoted to research and teaching in a set of fields of geological, biological and environmental sciences.
